I found this in one of my notebooks with a label Easter 2006
Veritas "Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice." John 18:37
Can the truth be lived, Can you speak it, Can you seek it,
Even where it has been torn from memory? Even when it is no longer recognised By the children to whom it belongs? Even when it has been obscured by a screen Of accepted wrongs?
Veritas, Veritas, Veritas
If I could see it, touch it, taste it As doubting Thomas might have been prone to ask Would it be easier to accept the task? Would I see a clearer path along the stricken road?
For the truth is a lonely burden, Which everyone thinks they know.
- It is hard to find the hidden-
Even when you know where to seek But it is harder still when the earnest will not speak.
Veritas, Veritas, Veritas
Yet never should we be afraid For the vision made real is clear: A world carpeted in palms and cloaked in purple To lead the lonely home And to comfort the just. The life given in hope and a bond of trust.
Veritas, Veritas, Veritas
It is there; It is here; It is yours. It lives, it breathes, it sees-
And ultimately it finds us-
Ultimately it frees.
