Link to some great posts on Lourdes

Just wanted to tip you off about some great posts on Lourdes which I have been really enjoying over on Poetry, Prayer, and Praise - they can be found here.

Ann Murray said...: Thanks, Edel, for the link. As an up and coming photo will testify a great number of Ampleforth pilgrims were in Lourdes, though the photo just captures a tiny fraction of what appeared to be many hundreds.

To think that the same ceremonies that you and I have attended are still going on day in day out is very encouraging indeed.

So you are welcome! I really have enjoyed reading them and looking at the wonderful photos- I am sure others will too.

I often do the same - look at my watch and imagine what might be happening in the domain, by the grotto or in the basilica - truly a bastion of hope in the world and to the world!

The Jubilee Prayer 1858-2008

Holy Spirit, you are the Spirit of love and unity. In Lourdes, through Bernadette, Mary asked for a Chapel, and for people to come in procession. Inspire the Church which Christ is building on Peter's faith: that it may be one. Guide the pilgrimage of the Church: that it may be faithful and daring!
Mary, you are filled with the Holy Spirit, you are the spouse and the servant. You are the model for Christians, and the maternal face of the Church. We pray to you ...
